MAVS GAMING ANNOUNCES 2023 NBA 2K LEAGUE ROSTER
January 27, 2023
JAN. 27, 2023 (DALLAS) – Last night, Mavs Gaming selected two players to fill out their roster at the 2023 NBA 2K League Draft: Ludlow “Glo” Samuels and Kwan “followTHEGOD” Niblack. These 2023 Mavs Gaming draft picks, presented by Chime, will prove to strategically set up the team for the upcoming sixth NBA 2K season, and beyond.
“With my first draft as head coach, I wanted to make a splash. Glo, who we believe is the best center in the draft, contributes a successful veteran mindset and leadership,” said Mavs Gaming Head Coach Ryan Conger. “FollowTHEGOD fits in perfectly with our current roster, bringing his experience and positional flexibility.”
All 25 NBA 2K League teams, including the league’s expansion team representing Australia, NBL Oz Gaming, completed their five-person rosters for both 3v3 and 5v5 competitions at the end of the three-round draft. During the offseason, 78 players who competed in the 2022 season were retained by their teams and one player was selected as the first-ever NBL Oz Gaming player, leaving 47 roster spots to be filled during the draft.
After the fifth season of the NBA 2K League, Mavs Gaming retained Kenneth “Kenny Zeus” Strombeck and Jeri “Jarsity” Pena. Making moves in the offseason for Reid “Reizey” Hill, the team was able to capitalize on their picks — No. 22 and 41. The Mavs Gaming season officially starts Mar. 8 with THE SLAM OPEN 3v3 Tournament.
