MAVS GAMING ANNOUNCES THE TEXAS TICKET TOURNAMENT PRESENTED BY CHOCTAW CASINOS & RESORTS

October 9, 2020 (DALLAS, TX) – The NBA 2K League recently announced a new tryout process put in place for the League’s fourth season that includes more than 35 Pro-Am tournaments hosted by NBA 2K League teams as part of the “NBA 2K League Draft Prospect Series.” This series is a League hosted event featuring winning teams from these tournaments, and a first of its kind NBA 2K League Combine, exclusive to players who are eligible for the 2021 NBA 2K League Draft, giving teams the opportunity to evaluate player performance through gameplay before the Draft. As part of the League’s Draft Prospect Series, Mavs Gaming will host The Texas Ticket Tournament presented by Choctaw Casinos & Resorts Monday, November 2, 2020 through Sunday, November 8, 2020.

Registration for the NBA 2K21 5v5 Pro- Am tournament opens Monday, October 12, 2020 and closes Monday, October 26, 2020 or when capacity is full, whichever comes first.

The Texas Ticket will simultaneously include Sony PlayStation 4 gameplay and Microsoft Xbox One gameplay. All five players on the winning team from each console will be made eligible for the 2021 NBA 2K League Draft, in accordance with NBA 2K League guidelines. Winning team captains will also have the official Texas Ticket trophy mailed directly to them, and the entire team will receive Mavs Gaming Champion apparel. Mavs Gaming will also have the chance to select one player that is not on the winning teams of the Texas Ticket tournament to receive a “Prospect Badge” that will automatically make that individual Draft-eligible.

The NBA 2K League announced that they will award additional Draft eligibility to a select number of players, including international players, participants in the Women in Gaming Development Camp, and high-performing players in the 2K community, as determined by league and team officials. All players (including players identified through the NBA 2K League Draft Prospect Series) must be 18 years or older by Oct. 1, 2020 in order to participate in the Season 4 tryout process, and must satisfy the NBA 2K League’s requirements to be eligible for the NBA 2K League Draft.
The League also announced that in an effort to continue developing and showcasing female 2K players, the NBA 2K League is collaborating with several elite, all-woman 2K teams as they participate in non- NBA 2K League sponsored Pro-Am tournaments taking place this fall. The top-performing players from these teams as well as other top performing players in the 2K community will be invited to compete in the NBA 2K League’s second Women in Gaming Development Camp in February. The Women in Gaming Development Camp will feature these top players showcasing their skills as they compete alongside and against current NBA 2K League players.
