MAVS GAMING FINALIZES TRADE WITH HORNETS VENOM GT

November 16, 2020 (DALLAS, TX) – Today, Mavs Gaming, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, acquired two new players and the No. 27 overall NBA 2K League Draft pick in a trade with Hornets Venom GT for point guard Sherm (Justin Sherman) and center PeteBeBallin (Peter Malin). Joining MavsGG is former Raptors Uprising GC center Sick One (Gerald Knapp), who was initially acquired by Hornet Venom GT before being traded to Mavs Gaming, and former Hornets Venom GT power forward Zae (Zaeya Ishak).

Gerald “Sick One” Knapp was the No. 19 overall pick by Cavs Legion GC, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, in the second round of the 2018 NBA 2K League Draft. The Verona, New Jersey native was traded to Raptors Uprising GC in a 2019 mid-season trade. Knapp played a notable role in the team’s 2020 undefeated regular season (16-0) that included winning back-to-back tournament banners (THE TIPOFF and THE TURN powered by AT&T). He averaged 14.3 points, 12.9 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 2.7 blocks in the 2020 regular season. Additionally, Knapp was ranked seventh overall in rebounds and blocks per game, 11th in field-goal percentage, top 25 for assists and was named to the All-NBA 2K League First Team.

Zaeya “Zae” Ishak was the No. 19 overall pick by Hornets Venom GT, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, in the first round of the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft. In his rookie regular season, he averaged 13.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks. The power forward shot 52.7% from the field and 48.3% from the three-point line in the regular season and set a franchise record of 21 rebounds in a game for Hornets Venom GT in a regular season game. Ishak was named to the 2020 First-Team All-Rookie Team.
