Mavs Gaming protects three stars for season three
August 20, 2019
Mavs Gaming has protected DatBoyDimez, PeteBeBallin and Sherm for season three of the NBA 2K League.
These players cannot be selected by any expansion teams in the 2019 Expansion Draft during September.
DatBoyDimez was the only player retained in season two for MavsGG. Selected No. 1 overall in the inaugural NBA 2K League Draft, Dimez averaged 16.7 points per game and 8.7 assists per game in season two. He also earned seven player of the game awards in 2019.
PeteBeBallin joined MavsGG in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft as the fifth-overall pick. He dominated the paint against opponents, averaging a double-double in the regular season with 14.3 PPG and 11.2 RPG, and finished second in field-goal percentage. He earned a spot on the all-rookie team and multiple player of the game awards.
Sherm was selected with the second-round pick to MavsGG in the 2019 NBA 2K League Draft. He finished season two as one of the top 15 players in the League in field-goal percentage. His impact was also felt as he held many opposing PGs below their average numbers.
MavsGG still has the option to retain one more player from the season two roster, following the expansion draft selections, in exchange for a first-round pick.
