MavsGG falls to Wizards District Gaming

After being postponed Thursday night, Mavs Gaming lost the series 2-0 to Wizards District Gaming on Friday night.

Game 1: Wizards District Gaming 83 – MavsGG 54

The first game of the night started off on the wrong foot and the Mavs couldn’t recover from it. The crew from the nation’s capital opened the game on a 12-0 run and finished the 1st quarter up 24-6.

The Mavs turned the ball over 14 times and shot only 44% from the field at the end of first half compared to the 76% the Wizards put up. Both the steals (12-3) and rebound (23-12) categories saw a lopsided defeat as well for the Mavs.

The first pick from the 2020 Draft Jack “JBM” Mascone and former Mavs Gaming teammate Ryan ”Dayfri” Conger combined for 45 points, while Justin “Just_Awkward” Howell put in 19 of his own.

Game 2: Wizards District Gaming 85 – MavsGG 50

In game two of the series, the Mavs decided to replicate the first quarter of game one, but this time they did it in quarter number two. The Wizards dropped the hammer down and sent the Mavs to half time down 41-20 while shooting 18/22 from the field and 5/5 from behind the arc.

The Dallas squad gave away the ball 17 times in this contest and allowed the Wizards to shoot 80% from the field and 10/11 from the three point land.

The loss puts the Mavs Gaming team at 6-3 heading into THE TIPOFF tournament next week where they will look to pick up the first tournament win in team history. Wizards District Gaming now sits at 6-1 and maintains their tie for second place in Season 3.
